A Note From the Team
As summer settles in, it brings a natural opportunity to pause, take a breath, and reflect on the first half of the year. Whether your summer includes travel, time with family, community events, or simply a slower pace, this midpoint on the calendar is a meaningful time to check in on the goals you set in January, celebrate progress made, and reset where needed for the months ahead.
Financial planning, much like life, rarely follows a perfectly straight path. Market conditions shift, priorities evolve, family needs change, and new opportunities may come into focus. A midyear review can help ensure your investment strategy, cash flow, retirement planning, tax considerations, and estate planning remain aligned with what matters most to you.
This summer also arrives during a historic season for our country, as America marks 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The milestone invites us to look back with appreciation, consider the values and aspirations that have shaped generations, and look ahead with intention toward the future we want to build—for our families, our communities, and the next generation.
In that same spirit, we encourage you to use this halfway point as a chance to revisit your financial goals and ask: What is still on track? What has changed? And what adjustments could help make the second half of the year even stronger? As always, our team is here to help you review, refine, and move forward with confidence.

What's Happening Around Town

We’d like to highlight an event that is especially meaningful to our team: the Janesville Morning Rotary Pie Ride. Laura Peterson is a proud Morning Rotarian and she did an outstanding job managing the volunteers for this city-wide event, which serves as one of the Rotary’s two major annual fundraisers. Each year, 100% of the proceeds are reinvested back into the community, supporting organizations such as the YMCA, ECHO Food Bank and the Boys & Girls Club of Janesville. Over the past 20 years, the Pie Ride has raised more than $300,000, with every dollar staying local to benefit the community. Congratulations to Laura on another successful event and for her dedication to making a difference in Janesville!

Keeping Up with Our Team

In May, Genise, Sean, and Ethan attended Baird Trust University in Louisville, Kentucky. The program provided a comprehensive overview of the resources and services available through Baird Trust, including trust administration, estate settlement services, charitable planning, and customized investment management. The experience deepened their understanding of when a corporate trustee may add value, how to help families navigate wealth transfer and legacy planning objectives, and the ways Baird Trust can support clients across multiple generations.
Sean has been keeping busy making memories with his family this season. They celebrated a number of special milestones, including their daughter’s First Communion and a family reunion in San Diego that brought everyone together. After two years of living with the family, their Jets billet player also played his final game, marking the end of a meaningful chapter. To top it all off, they enjoyed celebrating the Fourth of July together and taking time to appreciate a summer filled with family, traditions and cherished moments.
Ethan and his family recently visited Grand Marais, Minnesota, spending their time exploring scenic hiking trails, admiring the breathtaking views of Lake Superior, and making cherished memories together.
